The wine

A Glen Drummond blended malt bottled in the 1980s. This whisky was produced by Hankey Bannister & Co, a company based in Leith, Edinburgh whose flagship product is the blend of the same name. Hankey Bannister was founded in London in 1757 by Hankey and Hugh Bannister. At the time it was a wine and spirits shop. The pair then created their own blend, which quickly became extremely popular, notably with King George V—who granted them the royal warrant in 1901—and later with Churchill. The brand was bought by Inver House in 1988.
