Condrieu Guy Bernard (Domaine) 2012
The wine
This Condrieu is produced from a parcel of Viognier vines planted in the Bassenon lieu-dit, composed of granite soil on hillsides with a south/south-easterly exposure. The grapes are pressed, and the clear juices undergo alcoholic fermentation. Weekly stirring is carried out to complete the élevage stage prior to malolactic fermentation. The wine is then fully matured in barrique barrels. This Condrieu reveals a beautiful pale yellow colour with golden highlights. Citrus notes and white-fleshed fruits rub shoulders and sublimate a mouthfeel that very subtly combines richness and freshness, giving absolutely delightful length in the mouth.
About the Producer Guy Bernard
Domaine Guy is family run estate that spans six hectares over the Côte-Rôtie (4.8 ha) and Condrieu (1.2ha). A small, off the radar domaine that produces qualitative wines that are a beautiful expression of their appellation.
