Saint Esprit Of. P&L Première Marque
The wine
An old bottle of Saint Esprit rum whose origins and composition are unknown. We also do not know for certain when it was bottled but, by comparing it with ads from the time, it seems to be from either the interwar period or from before World War I.
About the Producer Saint Esprit
Saint Esprit is a brand of rum launched in 1867 by Bordeaux-based bottler André Teissèdre. Though not the only rum in the range, it was the only to have met with long-lasting success and was produced until the 1980s and 1990s. It also won a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle de Bordeaux in 1895 and was the subject of an extensive advertising campaign. Several editions and variations of this rum were released over the decades. Its origins and composition are unknown but the aromatic profile seems to have remained the same throughout its changing bottles and labels.
