Lot presentation

Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers Domaine Louis Jadot 2002

The wine

To create this wine, the domain carried out a 2-3 week fermentation in vats as well as an élevage in barrels for 18-20 months. This premier cru is one of the better-known of its appellation and is defined by a certain power and a lovely concentration. Its garnet-flecked ruby hue and its bouquet, balancing primary and tertiary notes, announce a dense and generous palate. As you can probably guess, this wine amply rewards ageing of a few years before being served with dishes of the same calibre

About the Producer Louis Jadot

Based in Beaune, it combines historic stature with remarkable vitality, continuing to attract leading figures of the wine world to shape and interpret its many terroirs. Now owned by an American family, the wines are crafted under the assured direction of Frédéric Barnier, who safeguards the house’s hallmark precision and consistency. These unwavering standards are what sets Maison Jadot apart in Burgundy. With 225 hectares under vine and representation across 130 appellations, not only in the Côte d’Or but also in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, wine lovers can expect genuine pleasure at every price level, always easily identifiable by the iconic Bacchus head on the label. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited. A house where scale never eclipses identity, and tradition continues to shape every bottle.
