The wine

To create this wine, the domain carried out a 2-3 week fermentation in vats as well as an élevage in barrels for 18-20 months. This premier cru is one of the better-known of its appellation and is defined by a certain power and a lovely concentration. Its garnet-flecked ruby hue and its bouquet, balancing primary and tertiary notes, announce a dense and generous palate. Based in Beaune, it combines historic stature with remarkable vitality, continuing to attract leading figures of the wine world to shape and interpret its many terroirs. Now owned by an American family, the wines are crafted under the assured direction of Frédéric Barnier, who safeguards the house’s hallmark precision and consistency. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited.
