Lot presentation
Courvoisier Of. The Brandy of Napoleon by appointment the Late King George VI VSOP
The wine
A magnum of Courvoisier VSOP cognac from the 1970s. VSOP, which stands for Very Special Old Pale, means the spirit has been aged in oak for at least four years. Note the words “Purveyors of Cognac Brandy to The Late King George VI “ on the neck label. These have since been replaced by a depiction of Napoléon, hand in waistcoat.
About the Producer Courvoisier
Courvoisier is a cognac brand founded in Jarnac in 1836. It is responsible, among other things, for the appellation Napoléon (who was a great fan of the brand's cognacs).
