The wine

The Peat Monster is a bottling born from a limited edition named The Monster which was released for the Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York. Its huge success led it to take a place in the permanent range in 2003, becoming The Peat Monster in the process. Arcana is a limited edition of Peat Monster launched in 2020 and the result of an experiment maturing peated whisky in Compass Box American oak casks fitted with French oak heads. The whisky is composed of 71.4% Talisker matured in refill hogsheads, 10.4% Miltonduff matured in first-fill bourbon casks, 9.4% Peat Monster matured in refill French oak, 6.7% Ardbeg matured in retoasted casks and a blend of Highland whiskies matured in heavily toasted French oak casks. A limited edition of 8,328 bottles.
