Kornog 2016 Oloroso Double maturation FSA Exclusive
The wine
Donated by the Celtic Whisky Distillerie
This peated Kornog was distilled in December 2016 and laid down on 16 December 2016 in a second-fill barrel previously used for bourbon. After being transferred into an ex-Oloroso cask on 27 January 2021, it continued its maturation until September 2022.
Falling in love with its high quality and complexity, La Maison du Whisky’’s specialists selected this cask strength whisky presented in a five-litre demijohn for the latest auction held by Fine Spirits Auction.
About the Producer Glann Ar Mor
Glann Ar Mor (Seashore) is a French distillery created in 1997 in Pleubian, Côtes-d’‘Armore by Jean Donnay, founder of the independent bottler Celtic Whisky Compagnie. Initially a rudimentary enterprise, it eventually developed its current form and released its first unpeated single malt in 2008. It would not be until the following year that the distillery’‘s first peated malt—Kornog—was released. In June 2020, the distillery announced it had been bought by the Cognac-based company Maison de Villevert.
