The wine
The domain's Merlot is a concentrated wine. Its nose is expressive, with aromas of candied red and black berries, tea and spices. In the mouth, the tannins are ripe and finely textured; the finish offers beautiful length.
About the Producer Shafer Vineyards
Shafer vineyards was created in 1972 in Stags Leap District in the Napa Valley by John Shafer when he turned his back on his career in publishing. His son, Doug Shafer became the vineyard’s vintner in 1983, assisted by Elias Fernandez. This 85-hectare estate has quickly became a Napa Valley icon and has acquired an established an international reputation.
