Lot presentation

Napa Valley IX Estate Colgin Cellars 2010

The wine

Committed to producing wines with a rich aromatic spectrum, Colgin Cellars has crafted a powerful cuvée, the fruit of a precise blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 14% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Driven by a love of the terroir and a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship, the estate cultivates this exceptional land with great care. Located between 335 and 420 metres above sea level, the vines climb on particularly well-drained soils mainly consisting of red clay.
The rich purple colour reveals an intense nose, with aromas of crème de cassis, charcoal and spring flowers mingling subtly with notes of tobacco and earth. The full-bodied, perfectly balanced palate displays remarkable purity, leading to an exceptionally persistent, fragrant and flavoursome finish. This iconic cuvée can be enjoyed young, but will also age beautifully for several years in the cellar.
