Australie Cambrien La Pleiade Chapoutier 2012
The wine
Cambrien La Pleiade Shiraz is made in Australia by French producers Chapoutier. Its dark colour, complex nose of red berries and spice, and its elegant, mineral and precise texture make for a top quality wine that will improve with age. This Shiraz varietal is harvested manually and vinified with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats for six weeks (to preserve the purity of the fruit aromas). It is then aged in new French barrels for one year.
About the Producer Cambrien
The Cambrien domaine belongs to the Maison Chapoutier, which is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most prestigious names in the Rhône Valley. Its expertise has extended to other vineyards in the Roussillon, but also to southern Australia. Michel Chapoutier, who styles himself an “inventor of soils”, has joined forces with major local winegrowers to grow exceptional Syrah grapes which produce particularly elegant wines imbued with mineral purity when vinified.
