Situated on the heights of the commune of Illats, at the top of the Bel Air plateau, Château Saint-Michel cultivates two and a half hectares of vines. The clay-limestone terroir mainly consists of gravel, perfectly suited to the production of Sauternes. This appellation, which comes from the Bordeaux winegrowing region on the banks of the Gironde, is renowned worldwide for its sweet wines. The estate cultivates a majority of Semillon grapes, representing 80% of the vineyard, as well as 15% Sauvignon and 5% Muscadelle. Each parcel benefits from meticulous, well-balanced viticulture, to preserve its individual characteristics.
