Loire Valley | 2000 vintage
A quality vintage that improves upon that of 1998 and 1999. Warmer, more humid weather than in 1999 yielded results that differed by appellation. The Savennières are elegant, concentrated and boast great minerality. The Bonnezeaux were subjected to a rigorous selection process and have emerged well-balanced. Spectacular quality wines in Chinon and Bourgeuil. In Tourraine, sweet Vouvray and Montlouis wines are as expected. On the other hand, the dry wines were extremely successful. In the centre region, the Sancerres are fair but should be consumed quickly. In Pouilly, grapes reached high levels of maturity, resulting in incredibly rich wines.
