Information
Although famed in Beaujolais for their wines, the Duboeuf family history stretches back far longer. Indeed, the family started producing wine in the Mâconnais more than four centuries ago. At a young age Georges Duboeuf abandonned his studies in order to dedicate himself to wine and transform the negociant business in the region. In 1964 he started his own negociant business called Les Vins de Georges Duboeuf. Duboeuf sought to bring back and reinvent the traditional methods of production used in the past in a way that still respected the winemaker's personal toil and expression. His contribution to winemaking helped transform methods of production in the region. Today, Duboeuf and his team work alongside 300 producers and export to many different countries around the world including North America, Australia and Japan. It is a venture that is destined to grow as his grandson, Adrien, is learning the trade. Duboeuf's accomplishments have made him a true ambassador of Beaujolais.
A robust and pedigreed wine, this red Morgon has fabulous cellaring potential; flavours intensify over time. Its garnet-coloured robe announces a bouquet of pepper, fruit and smoke on the nose. Structured and well-balanced with seductively silky tannins. For drinking at room temperature, with meat and a vegetable gratin.
