Information
The Confuron domain was taken over in 1988 by Alain and Sophie Meunier. Situated at Premeaux-Prissey very near to Nuit-Saints-Saint-Georges, the domain belonged to Sophie's father. They decided to convert to organic viticulture. Today, the vineyards count 8 hectares and produce 12 Côte de Nuits appellations. Among them are included the prestigious Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Clos de Vougeot and Romanée Saint-Vivant Grands Crus. Since 2003, horses are used to work the domain's oldest parcel, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, which is 80 years old.
Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Vignottes has a dark ruby colour and a nose with black cherry aromas. The palate is medium bodied, but this wine deserves a few years of aging to let it soften.
