Frédéric Magnien represents the 5th generation of wine growers of his family. He created his trading house in 1995 and is also in charge of the family domaine (Michel Magnien). He carefully selects his wine growers and the plots that interest him; he manages the harvest personally with his team. He is best known for his red wines but for several years he has also produced white. His wines are characterised by their concentration and their solid character.

This wine comes from vines located north of Gevrey Chambertin where the soil has a clay-chalk composition and a well-drained subsoil. The resulting wine is complex and flavourful, bursting with ripe fruits and an oaky character with notes of chocolate. Its has an austere attack, an ample mouthfeel and a rich, persistent finish. Ideal with a dish such as lamb seasoned with herbs.
