Information
Domaine Charlopin-Parizot, located in Gevrey Chambertin, was created in 1977 and then taken over by Philippe Charlopin. It currently covers 25 hectares of beautiful terroirs, distributed over the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Chablis, with several grand crus. Its wines are succulent with superb élevage.
This Marsannay is an elegant and expressive wine from the Charlopin-Parizot estate, which spans some 25 hectares, with a dedicated parcel for this exquisite cuvée. Crafted from Chardonnay grown in clay-limestone soils that impart exquisite minerality, these thirty-year-old vines flourish in a temperate climate and are hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality grapes. The vinification is meticulously executed; after gentle pressing, the must ferments in oak barrels, with about 20% new wood, imparting a delicate touch of woodiness that complements rather than overshadows the aromas. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months, allowing the juice to develop its full complexity.
On the nose, this Marsannay reveals delicate aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers and stone fruit, with a hint of vanilla and hazelnut. On the palate, it is fresh and ample, with a lovely mineral tension balanced by remarkable roundness and length.
