About the producer
Alejandro Fernández has carved out a place for himself in the history of Spanish wine by reviving the fortunes of Ribera del Duero and enhancing its international reputation. He demonstrated his expertise in the 1980s in particular, after a difficult ten year quest to find the elusive recipe for quality: a consistent balance between the grape and the flavours obtained by ageing.
About the wine
In Spain, the "gran reserva" name indicates maximum ageing compared to other cuvées (24 months in American oak barrels, 36 months in the bottle). This Tempranillo offers real complexity and spicy length, giving a full-bodied wine.
