Information
Domaine de le Grand’Cor is owned by the Dutraive family. Their Gamay is produced under the Fleurie and the Brouilly appellations. The domain covers 11.7 hectacres and has held organic certification since 2009. Jean-Louis Dutraive does everything he can to allow the terroir be reflected in his wines. He vinifies without the use of sulfites and at low temperatures. He also uses natural yeasts and carbonic maceration. His wines are natural and are neither filtered nor clarified. It is a domain that has now established itself amongst the best that Beaujolais has to offer.
The cuvée La Tonne of the Dutraive family has been made from purchased grapes. The family decided to vinify them following natural methods. Vinification was thus done with indigenous yeasts. The wine has been aged for 18 months in barrels (25% new wood). A great wine for keeping, this Gamay is a fine introduction to the domain's know-how. Its juice and intense fruit will undoubtedly impress you.
