Les Crais is a parcel from the Mâcon appellation Saint-Véran here brought into focus by the family domain Cordier. Christophe Cordier, the current owner, is always striving to craft wine that reflects its terroir and passes on the noble nature of the Chardonnay grown to make it. For this, the work int eh vineyard is of utmost importance. The soils are laboured to encourage microbial life and to push the roots deeper for their nutrients. This meticulous work continues to the winery where the grapes are vinified by gravity and thanks to the action of wild yeasts. Temperatures are controlled during this process to preserve the delicate nature of the Chardonnay. The wine is then matured at length on lees in wooden containers. You can enjoy this cuvée within its first ten years. It will reveal a pale, yellow colour and a delicate aromatic bouquet of white flowers, white fruit, nuts, citrus, minerals, and butter. Its almost unctuous palate is lifted by a fine minerality.
