Information
Reputed for their production of fine Italian wines, Marco Casolanetti and Eleonora Rossi from domain Oasi degli Angeli here propose a wine classed in the Marche IGT appellation. This is an area between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines, an ideal location for Montepulciano vines to be cultivated. Here, they benefit from a combination of harsh earth and gentle, maritime breeze.
The domain has been noticed by Robert Parker and is committed to traditional production characterised primarily by low yields. This allows the domain to obtain extremely dense and concentrated grape juice. In the cellar, the wine is matured for 18 to 20 months in new oak casks.
In the glass we find a deep, crimson wine with a rich aromatic bouquet; it gives off notes of black fruit, vanilla, and berries like blackcurrant. These notes introduce a generous palate structured by round tannins.
We recommend savouring this cuvée after a long ageing of around 15 years following its vintage. It will pair well with a rich dish like red meat in sauce or characterful cheeses.
