The Michel Saban Burgundy vineyard nestles in the heart of the iconic commune of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The winemaker nurtures his 23 hectares of vines spanning the region’s finest appellations with passion. Well aware of the current environmental concerns and with a view to protecting biodiversity, the domain cultivates the estate cultivates the region’s leading grape varieties with the greatest respect for the land. Each parcel receives specific care depending on its needs, to allow the personality of each one to shine through. For the winemaker, the perfect balance between man and nature is essential to procure high quality raw materials. In the winery, vinification involves minimal intervention and sulphur is used in minute quantities. The objective is to allow the terroir and fruit to develop all their aromas unhindered. It is in this peaceful setting that the domain produces its unique, authentic and elegant vintages, a perfect reflection of the Burgundian terroir.
Michel Saban is a well-known Burgundian estate owner, notable for wines such as a Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Gaudichots, a plot with a complex history. This Premier Cru was, in fact, absorbed into the La Tâche Grand Cru and only very few proprietors still hold Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Gaudichots plots that have yet to be reclassified. To the best of our knowledge, bottles from this rare cru adjoining La Tâche are shared between Domaine Régis Forey and wines produced by Michel Saban.
The wine is velvety, delicate, and refined, characterised by vanilla aromas. A rare cru best enjoyed within 5 to 10 years of the vintage.
