About the producer
Black Joe is a brand of Jamaican rum imported and bottled in Italy by Illva (Industrial Lombarda Liquori Vini e Affini) Saronno, an Italian company founded in 1922 in the north of Genoa, which also made bitters, amaretto and wine. It is not known which distilleries produced the rums in Black Joe. As far as we know, the brand existed from the 1950s to the 1980s.
About the wine
A Blanck Joe Jamaican rum imported and bottled in the 1970s by Illva Saronno. Until recently, Jamaican rum was sold mainly in bulk to foreign companies who would blend and bottle it under their own brand.
