Information
The Montebello distillery is renowned worldwide for producing authentic, flavoursome rums thanks to its unique traditional expertise. Established in 1930, Montebello is nestled in the heart of Petit-Bourg in Guadeloupe. It almost disappeared after World War II, but was fortunately purchased by Jean Marsolle and his son Alain, both passionate about their work and keen to modernise the distillery. As a result, it became one of the largest distilleries in Guadeloupe. Grégory Marsolle, Alain’s son, has been running the distillery masterfully since 2012. He is committed to producing exceptional rums with a more environmentally friendly, sustainable and biodiversity-conscious policy. With this in mind, he has decided to re-use all his waste. It is in this harmonious context that the distillery produces high quality rums, reflecting the unique and thorough expertise of a passionate distiller.
A Montebello aged rum from Guadeloupe distilled in 1984 and bottled in the 1990s. It was awarded the gold medal at the Paris Agricultural Concours in 1996. Montebello is produced in a column still with vesou at the Carrere de Petit-Bourg distillery in Basse-Terre.
