About the wine
A Glenleven 12 year old imported to France in the 1980s, when Distillers Company Limited incorporated Glenleven into the Ascot Malt Cellar range in 1982, before replacing it with Royal Lochnagar. Glenleven is a blended malt produced by Haig from six whiskies. The Distillers Company Limited’’s Ascot Malt Cellar range can be seen as one of the group’’s first forays into single malts. Hedging its bets, the range still included blends but would really come into its own with the Classic Malts in 1988.
