Information
Jacques Seysses created Domaine Dujac in 1968 by purchasing 4.5 hectares. He is also associated with Aubert de Villaine in the Var (Triennes). Today Jacques's children are the directors of the Domaine Dujac, Jeremy, his wife Diana (an American enologist) and Alec Seysses. The domaine, certified in organic farming, extends over 15 hectares in the largest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits and especially Morey-Saint-Denis. The domaine's wines have excellent aging potential and are characterised by great complexity and delicacy.
Producing fragrant, lively red wines, the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation enjoys a privileged position in the Côte de Nuits. The deep soils consisting of marl and limestone provide the vines with all the nutrients they require to thrive. The vines pruned using the Cordon de Royat or Guyot-Poussard methods, enjoy the benefits of gentle, meticulous viticulture practices. The entire estate was certified organic in 2008. The estate is also gradually introducing biodynamic practices to further preserve the fragile and varied ecosystem. In the winery, the estate favours low-intervention winemaking processes to capture the unique and authentic expression of the terroir.
The ruby-red colour reveals a delicate bouquet with aromas of red and black fruit mingle with subtle hints of spice and a floral touch. The full-bodied and structured palate reveals a superb balance of fine acidity and firm tannins.
