Information
Christian Confuron owns a small domaine in Vougeot in the Côte de Nuits. Its name evokes the Domaine Jack Confuron-Cotetidot but these are two very distinct areas. The prices have remained very affordable.
The Les Lavrottes climat is a renowned Premier Cru located in the Chambolle-Musigny terroir. Only a few Pinot Noir wines are produced here, and they are known for being as fine as they are smooth. The vines are planted on shallow soils, mainly consisting of limestone and a small proportion of clay, and enjoy ideal exposure to the east and south. The harvested grapes are transferred to the vineyard, where the Pinot Noir vinification process begins. Each step is completed meticulously to preserve all the aromas of the Chambolle-Musigny terroir.
The ruddy-red colour reveals a seductive nose of black cherry and blackberry aromas harmoniously mingling with notes of vanilla and subtle hints of clove. The elegant, flavoursome and perfectly balanced palate displays explosive freshness, leading delicately to a fruity, lingering finish. This cuvée will stand the test of time beautifully.
