About the producer

Having honed his skills for seven years at Domaine de l’Anglore with the Pfifferling family, he eventually started making his own wine in 2018. At the time, his place of choice was Tavel, in the southern Rhône, where he purchased just 1.20 ha planted with Grenache and Syrah. There, he started producing his wines in his garage, and his two cuvées, Tavel and Vin de France, quickly caught the attention of connoisseurs.
And with good reason! Everything is carried out with meticulous care to craft the finest wines: low yields, manual harvests, low-intervention in the winery, very low doses of sulphur, gentle infusion-style extraction (a technique he mastered at Domaine de l’Anglore to showcase the fruit), carbonic maceration, and barrique ageing in used vessels.
Today, Romain’s success is there for everyone to see. He now owns 11 hectares of vines, with a far broader range of grape varieties, and has established a proper winery. Romain le Bars embodies the new wave of Rhône winemakers and promises a bright future for the region. Definitely one to keep a close eye on!

About the wine

Pousse Cailloux is a fascinating wine crafted by Romain Le Bars from a blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes. These carefully selected grape varieties are harvested from vines planted over 40 years ago on sandy and pebbly soils in the Southern Rhône Valley. This unique terroir imparts a distinctive expression to the wine, which is further refined by a meticulous vinification process. While 40% of the wine is matured in casks, adding complexity and structure, the remaining 60% is refined in vats, preserving the freshness and purity of the fruit.
The result is a natural, vibrant and expressive wine, that immediately seduces with its radiant fruitiness Prevailing aromas of strawberry and grenadine are bewitching, inviting you to enjoy a hedonistic tasting experience. The palate is round and supple, offering a pleasant texture and an intensely fruity finish. Each sip reveals a subtle complexity, while retaining a disarming simplicity that renders it simply delectable. This is a veritable tribute to its terroir and to the savoir-faire of Romain Le Bars, making it the perfect choice for those seeking authenticity and a pure expression of fruit in their wine.
