Information
The Charles Mortet vineyard is nestled in the heart of the iconic Burgundian communes of Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny and Vougeot. The estate was established by Charles Mortet in 1956, and at the time covered just one hectare of vines. It has continued to develop, generation after generation. Today, the vineyard is expertly run by Arnaud, Clémence and Laurence, who passionately cultivate around 12 hectares of vines spread across the region’s finest appellations. The vineyard has the particularity of having adopted healthy, environmentally friendly viticulture methods ever since it was established. Chemical fertilisers and pesticides were never used. Today, the spirit remains very much the same. The winemaker cultivate his vines with the utmost respect for the land and biodiversity. After harvesting the grapes entirely by hand, vinification is carried out with minimal intervention and sulphur is added in minute quantities. The domain strives to showcase the exceptional Burgundian terroir.
