Information
Le Pommard Premier Cru Les Petits Epenots comes from one of the most prestigious climats within the appellation. The vineyard possesses clay-limestone soil rich in iron, offering ideal natural drainage. The vines of the Les Petits Epenots climat are cultivated according to winegrowing practices that respect the environment. Vinification starts with cold maceration to extract the fruity aromas and the colour before fermentation takes place in barrels with regular pumping-over to promote good extraction of the tannins. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels - of which around 30% are new - for around 12 to 18 months.
This Pommard is distinguished by its deep ruby-red colour. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of red fruits, such as cherries and strawberries, finished with notes of black fruits such as blackberries, spices and wood, with a touch of liquorice. On the palate, this wine is structured with present yet well-integrated tannins, offering a silky texture.
