Information
The Maxime Cottenceau Burgundian estate stems from the labour of a passionate and meticulous young winemaker. After completing his degree in oenology, he completed a two-year apprenticeship with Vincent Dureuil, an eminent winemaker. He then embarked on his own venture, taking over his parents’ vineyards. He cultivates over six hectares of vines, including some of the region’s signature grape varieties, such as Chardonnay, Aligoté and Pinot Noir. The vines spreading across some of the region’s finest appellations are 40 years old on average. Well aware of the current environmental concerns and with a view to protecting biodiversity, he handles his vines in accordance with sustainable farming practices. Once the grapes have been entirely hand-harvested, vinification is performed with minimal intervention allowing the fruit to express all its aromas freely. It is in this serene context that the young winemaker produces authentic and fruity vintages.
