About the wine
The Lion’’s Vat is a blend created by Diego Sandrin. Starting in 2008, the Venetian collector and founder of Lion’’s Whisky poured a little of each whisky he tasted into two small casks, before transferring them into two Venetian wine casks (Raboso and Fragolino) previously used to finish Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength. After five years’’ maturation in these casks, the blend was bottled for a charitable organization that helps underprivileged children play sport. A limited edition of just 40 bottles, it contains over 500 whiskies, including some iconic bottlings such as Bowmore 1966 Bouquet and the Laphroaig 1967 bottle by Samaroli.
