About the producer

In the Vietti family since the 19th century, four generations have successfully brought their estate to top of its game in Piedmont. Alfredo Currado's innovation has attracted fans from all over the world. While the trend of standardising wines was peaking, the Vietti estate seized a golden opportunity to stand out from the crowd by offering very distinctive wines, single-parcel cuvées, and a white wine made from Arnéis, an indigenous white grape that had fallen into obscurity.
In 2016, the Krause family acquired the estate with the intention of expanding it with new prestigious crus in the Barolo and Barbaresco appellations. Today, they remain committed to preserving the identity and values that have characterised the Vietti estate since it was founded.
The Vietti estate cultivates 75 hectares of vines spread across the Langhe, Roero, Asti and Colli Tortonesi regions, an area listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. Check out their beautiful wines, the Barbaresco or Barolo will do wonders after decanting or few years in your cellar.

About the wine

The Nebbiolo vines, benefiting from south and south-east orientations, grow on clay-limestone soils composed of Sant’Agata marl. Thriving at an altitude of around 320 metres and with an average age of 50 years, the vines are cultivated in a healthy and sustainable manner to ensure high-quality raw material. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand at the beginning of October, when at optimum ripeness. In the cellar, 60% of the grapes are vinified in whole bunches. The other part is destemmed then pressed before being stored in steel vats to age and ferment. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in contact with the skins for around four weeks, and is pumped over regularly before malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels. Finally, the cuvée is aged with care in oak barrels for around 24 months.
The ruby-red colour unveils a delicate nose marked by aromas of ripe red fruits with touches of spices. On the palate, the silky tannins balance out perfectly with the delicious fruity flavours leading to a long and spiced finish.
