Julian Haart set up his own estate in 2010, after completing several internships at some of the region’s most emblematic vineyards. The estate, which is located near the German town of Piesport, now covers five hectares of vines. Wine runs in his blood, as Julian is the nephew of Théo Haart, who works at the Reinhold Haart estate. The winemaker mainly cultivates Riesling vines, which has emerged as one of the most popular grape varieties over the last twenty years. The combination of steep German soils and cool temperatures allows the grape variety to thrive. In the vineyard, the winemaker applies balanced, sustainable methods to preserve these precious soils. Once harvested, the grapes are vinified with low-intervention winemaking methods. This peaceful setting is where Julian Haart, who has become one of the leading names in the Moselle Valley, produces authentic cuvées that are widely acclaimed.
