Lafarge is a family-owned domain of 12 hectares, established in Volnay since the 19th century. Since then, each generation has strived to make it prosper and grow. In 1949 Michel and his father ran the domain; his son Frédéric joined them in 1978. From 1997 he started to use biodynamics in the domain and since 2000 all the vineyards are organically cultivated.

Established in the 19th century in Volnay, at the heart of the Burgundy winegrowing landscape, Domaine Lafarge represents a unique family viticultural heritage in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The estate cultivates Pinot Noir and Gamay vines in complantation, which means the fruit are grown on the same land. The vines, between 70 and 90 years old, are planted on clay-limestone soils and enjoy all the benefits of biodynamic viticulture. In the winery, the juice undergoes a lengthy maturation process in casks, with 5% new wood. The wines are also lightly fined and barely filtered before bottling.
The bright ruddy-red colour reveals an expressive nose with notes of red fruit subtle floral touches. The flavoursome, generous and perfectly balanced palate reveals a superb minerality culminating in a long, delicious finish.
