Morey-Saint-Denis is part of one of the largest villages in the Côte de Nuits region and neighbours the unparalleled terroirs of Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. Five Grands Crus make up this renowned appellation and grow one after the other along the hillside. The Pinot Noir vines, which are at least 50 years old, grow on clay-limestone hills around 220 to 270 metres high. There is no doubt that these vines are exceptional, as each plot in the eastern-facing vineyards is carefully and meticulously cultivated. Once the grapes are manually harvested at the peak of their maturity, they are destemmed. This technique removes the earthy and acidic flavours of the stems while enhancing the rich aromas and colours. Once the alcoholic fermentation in tanks is complete, as well as the malolactic fermentation in casks, the wine is aged in new casks before being bottled.
This Pinot Noir, with its bright ruby colour, enjoys a delicately sweet nose underlined by aromas of red berries. The full-bodied tannins match remarkably well with the soft, balanced mouthfeel for a long, delicate finish. This rich, smooth wine is suited for a few years of cellaring.
