Information
Les Parcellaires de Saulx estate has the reputation of producing excellent terroir-driven wines in the Côte de Beaune, where the estate nestles between Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. This Meursault is produced from the Les Pellans single vineyard, which owes its name to the Old French word ‘pevle’ which means ‘pasture’ and where the parcels were reputed to be damp and cool. The Chardonnay used to create this cuvée flourishes just south of the Murisal commune, below the Les Charmes Premier Cru, facing east-south-east. The vines draw the nutrients necessary to thrive from a variety of soils consisting of clay, limestone, sand, marl, clay and silt.
Designed to be enjoyed during its first five years, the wine is aged from one year to fifteen months in second-fill casks. The wine displays a clear, gold-tinged colour complemented by notes of fresh fruit and butter. Dense, full-bodied and generous, it is balanced by a freshness infused with a hint of lemon.
