Information
Domain Marc Kreydenweiss is a family affair: it was originally created by Marc Kreydenweiss, who then passed the reins over to his son Antoine, seconded by his wife Charlotte and daughters Zoé, Lilou and Léonie. At the foothills of the Vosges, the estate has a wide variety of soils, spans 13.5 hectares and owns four Grands Crus. The vineyard has been farmed biodynamically since 1999 and natural vinifications allow the terroir to shine through in all its typicity and character. We particularly appreciate their refined, concentrated wines which are energized by a nice acidity.
La Fontaine aux Enfants is a meticulous blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Auxerrois. The vines, averaging some twenty years, are all cultivated in accordance with the strict principles of biodynamic viticulture. Growing at an altitude of around 300 metres, the vines benefit from south exposure, which provides the perfect amount of sunshine for the grapes to reach optimum ripeness. The soil, mostly granite, provides the vines with all the nutrients they need to thrive. The hand-picked grapes are slowly pressed in whole bunches. Malolactic fermentation is triggered by native yeasts and the cuvée is aged on its lees in oak demi-muids for a year.
The bright, golden colour is complemented by an expressive nose, characterised by intense floral notes. The lively and delicious mouthfeel displays a perfect balance of floral notes and yellow fruit aromas, leading to a delightfully long finish.
