Information
Domaine Roche de Bellene was created in 2005 by Nicolas Potel after the purchase of several plots of vines ranging from Santenay to Vosne Romanée. The vines are aged from 50 to 110 years old and are grown organically. The domaine then launched a trading business under the name of Roche de Bellene which is discussed here.
Domaine Roche de Bellene unveils its exceptional Chevalier-Montrachet cuvée, an incredible white wine that comes from a prestigious Burgundy terroir. The vines, which are around 60 years old on average, benefit from an ideal east-south-east exposure which allows them to fully capture the sunlight which ensures optimum ripeness of the grapes. The clay-limestone soil imparts refined minerality and a remarkable aromatic complexity. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeast, thus preserving the authentic characteristics of the grapes and terroir. The wine is aged is conducted entirely in new oak barrels giving a silky texture and subtle hints of vanilla and spices without masking the freshness and purity.
This Chevalier-Montrachet charms the palate with its perfect balance between lively acidity and rich aromas of white fruits, citrus and white flowers. Its long, elegant, mineral finish makes this an exceptional white, worthy of the finest Burgundy wines.
