Born into a family of winemakers, Pierric Brochet obtained an Advanced Technical Certificate in viticulture and oenology in Avize before joining the Jacques Selosse estate. During this period that he discovered an alternative method aimed at encouraging the natural and authentic expression of the terroir. With his head brimming with ideas, he set up his own estate in Taissy, south of Reims, buying a few plots of vines to craft superb Champagnes. In the vineyard, chemical fertilisers and weedkillers have been rejected in favour of precise, meticulous work on the soil. The estate’s first vintage was unveiled in 2019, and perfectly embodies the sustainable and natural methods acquired during Pierric’s internship, reflecting the individual personality of each parcel. In the winery, Pierric uses traditional, low-intervention winemaking methods to produce powerful, elegant, lightly sparkling cuvées that are sure to be talked about for years to come.

Albane is an exclusive sparkling white Champagne, made in the time?honoured tradition, with an artisanal, single?vineyard character. The Premier Cru Écueil terroir rests on clay-limestone and sandy soils, which ensure good water regulation and promote the finesse of the wines. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand, delicately pressed and then vinified in stainless steel vats. Only partial malolactic fermentation occurs to preserve tension. At first, there is a long ageing period on lees, followed by further extended ageing in the cellar before disgorging. The dosage is extra-dry, enhancing the pure expression of the terroir.
The cuvée is a pale colour with flashes of silver and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is delicate, marked by aromas of fresh pear, citrus fruits, chalk and white flowers. The wine is taut, direct and elegant on the palate, leading to a finish that is both salty and persistent.
