Information
About the producer

As is the case with many winemakers, Emmanuel Brochet has inherited his vocation for wine from his family and his father’s vines. A rare fact in the viticultural landscape of Champagne, the domain is run according to organic principles in order to let its micro-terroir express all its individuality. The plants grow over a little more than two hectares and benefit from the effect of a varied soil composed of clay, chalk and limestone. Unsurprisingly, the harvest is also carefully surveyed in order to ensure that only the best of each vintage makes it to the winery. There, Emmanuel Brochet vinifies his wine in oak barrels for a ripe and precise result.

About the wine

Emmanuel Brochet is one of Champagne’s rising stars. At the helm of a tiny 2.5-hectare estate, the young winegrower also produces a handful of micro-négociant cuvées, including this one. Based in the small village of Villers-aux-Nœuds, just south of Reims, Emmanuel Brochet practises responsible viticulture inspired by biodynamic principles. The use of chemical inputs is kept to a minimum in order to preserve the natural balance of the soils.
This extra-brut blended rosé is made exclusively from Pinot Meunier grown on the Petite Montagne de Reims. The soils rest on a limestone bedrock complemented by clay and chalk. In the winery, the wine undergoes fermentation with native yeasts before spending 11 months ageing in oak casks on its lees.
Fresh and expressive, the nose reveals aromas of strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant and blueberry. The palate is elegant, mineral and shows impressive depth.
