Information
Having acquired a real reputation with the wines from his trade, since 2006, with the help of his son, Dominique Laurent has also created a small producer-farming establishment from vineyards leased to a winemaker of Vosne-Romanée. He does not deal with vinification but élevage and bottling. Nevertheless, he supervises vinification. The father and son like to work grape musts that have not been destemmed and to mature their wines without sulphur. They use new barrels, the signature of the maison. Dominique Laurent's entire range of wines is characterised by a high degree of purity and to be accessible to all ages. This recipe has proved its worth to fans all over the world.
Les Feusselottes is one of Chambolle-Musigny’s finest Premier Crus. Here, Domaine Dominique Laurent tends vines that are more than 70 years old. The parcel lies to the east of the village, surrounded by the Premier Crus Les Chatelots and Les Grands Murs. Here, the terrain is relatively flat, with soils composed of clay, red silt and shallow limestone. Dominique Laurent tends his vines according to organic principles.
In the winery, whole-cluster vinification and sulfite-free fermentation are favoured. The wine is then aged at length in new oak barrels.
In the glass, this Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Feusselottes displays a clear ruby hue, revealing aromas of strawberry, dried rose, truffle and oak. With aeration, notes of cherry, plum and vanilla emerge. On the palate, the wine is supple, intense and generous, offering remarkable purity. A superb gastronomic wine.
