Vigne Farouche is made from Touriga Nacional, a Portuguese red grape variety that produces high-quality wines and thrives in the soils of south-western France. This wine is produced from vines grown on the Causses, a region where the dry and rocky limestone soils bring a distinct minerality to the wines, while limiting yields for optimal concentration. The grapes are vinified using methods that respect the terroir: once hand-harvesting is complete, they are carefully sorted before traditional fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged on fine lees to give it complexity and texture whilst preserving freshness.
This deep red wine looks almost purple with its violet hues. The nose is strong, marked by aromas of ripe black fruits with hints of spices, black pepper and a subtle touch of tobacco. The wine is structured on the palate and enhanced by fine, strong tannins leading to a spiced and fresh finish.
