Information
Situated in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is one of Burgundy’s most illustrious appellations. Porusot, located on the middle of the slope to the south of the village, is one of Meursault’s historic Premier cru climats. Its terroir is defined by brown clay-limestone soils, rich in stones and exceptionally well drained, with a high proportion of active limestone. The abundance of stones, combined with the slope’s favourable exposure, promotes excellent sunshine and ensures the grapes reach optimum ripeness. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and carefully placed in small crates. They are then gently and slowly pressed, without prior crushing. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously in casks, before the wine is aged on fine lees for 18 months in French oak.
The wine displays a bright pale yellow hue with golden highlights. The refined, complex bouquet combines fresh hazelnut, ripe citrus and juicy pear, layered with delicate floral notes and a distinctive chalky minerality. The first sip is broad, revealing a silky texture shaped by a striking mineral backbone.
