Information
Les Porrets-Saint-Georges, one of the most iconic Premier cru climats of Nuits-Saint-Georges, is located at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, at the southern end of Burgundy’s prestigious wine-growing region. It lies on brown limestone soils with a high clay content, rich in stones, on the lower slopes at around 250 metres above sea level. The manual harvests are followed by rigorous sorting both in the vineyard and in the winery. Fermentation takes place traditionally in open vats with native yeasts. The grapes undergo a 15-day maceration, with regular punch-downs and pump-overs to ensure gentle extraction. The wine is then aged in oak casks for 18 months before being bottled unfiltered.
The wine displays a deep ruby hue with garnet highlights. The complex, refined nose combines aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry and sweet spice, layered with notes of undergrowth and fine leather. Broad and well structured, the palate is supported by silky yet firm tannins, lifted by vibrant freshness.
