Information
Gosset, whose ancestors have lived in Aÿ since 1484, is one of the oldest houses in Champagne (created in 1584 by Jean Gosset). Béatrice Cointreau passed the domain over to her brother Jean-Pierre in 2007. Gosset's speciality has become vinous, intense and powerful champagnes which age majestically. This is particularly true for their brilliant vintage cuvées and the cuvée Célébris. The house launched a new cuvée in 2007, a blanc de blancs with remarkable tension.
This cuvée majestically embodies the unique style of the oldest Champagne house in Aÿ founded in 1584. It is crafted from a blend of 51% Pinot Noir sourced from Aÿ, Louvois, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzy, combined with 49% Chardonnay from the terroirs of Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Villers-Marmery. In the winery, the fruit undergoes a traditional vinification process. The cuvée has the particularity of being aged on the lees for at least 12 years.
In the glass, the Champagne reveals a bright golden hue with pale amber glints, enlivened by a fine, steady effervescence. The nose opens with toasted notes of hazelnut and orange peel, evolving towards brioche, roasted apple, honey and damp chalk. On the palate, the attack is lively, direct and energetic, before the substance develops with both generosity and precision, revealing a persistent, saline thread. The lively finish is marked by a subtle balance of maturity and crystalline freshness.
