Information
Situated in the heart of Napa Valley, the Oakville appellation is one of the United States’ most prestigious terroirs. The vines are rooted in gravelly alluvial soils mixed with clay, offering excellent drainage. Harvesting is carried out by hand once the grapes have reached optimal phenolic maturity, followed by meticulous sorting. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with native yeasts, while regular pump-overs and rack-and-return ensure precise, harmonious extraction of the tannins. The wine is then aged for 20 months in French oak casks, about 50% of which are new.
The wine reveals a striking deep purple hue. The intense yet refined bouquet unfolds with elegant layers of blackcurrant, wild blackberry and black cherry, enriched by graphite, sweet spice, blond tobacco, dark chocolate and a delicate floral touch. On the palate, the wine is ample and structured, carried by refined yet powerful tannins.
