Information
Set on the slopes of Vernou-sur-Brenne, Vouvray has been producing Chenin Blancs wines celebrated since the Middle Ages for their finesse and longevity. This cuvée is crafted from vines rooted on the northern slope of Vernou-sur-Brenne, in fine red clay soils. Grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, with a rigorous selection in the vineyard to retain only perfectly ripe, healthy fruit. Natural yeasts trigger the fermentation process and the wine is then matured on fine lees for about ten months, without oak, yielding a dense texture that balances acidity and fullness. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration.
The wine displays a pale yellow hue. The nose delicately expresses notes of yellow fruit, honey and white flowers, elevated by a chalky mineral edge. The palate opens with a lively attack, its dense texture supported by vibrant acidity.
