Information
Domaine Marc Morey is one of the most regular domaines in Chassagne-Montrachet with wines which are generally very pure and rather mineral, because of their location in the heart of the best hillside of Chassagne for Chardonnay.
Chambolle-Musigny embodies the purest expression of Pinot Noir elegance in the Côte de Nuits, producing wines celebrated for their aromatic finesse and delicate texture. The vines grow on stony clay-limestone soils rich in pebbles and limestone colluvium, between 250 and 300 metres altitude. Harvesting is done by hand, with around 90% of the bunches are destalked. Vinification begins with a cold pre-fermentation soak followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless-steel vats for about three weeks. Ageing lasts 12 to 14 months in oak casks.
The wine displays an intense, brilliant garnet-ruby hue. The nose is refined and expressive, opening with blackberry and blueberry, layered with subtle hints of cocoa, mocha and stewed black fruits, offering a finely woven complexity. On the palate, the wine is dense and flavourful, carried by a silky texture and finely integrated tannins.
