Information
Situated at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin is one of the broadest Grand Cru of Gevrey-Chambertin. This renowned terroir enjoys ideal south-east exposure and clay-limestone soils that promote optimal ripening for Pinot Noir. The grapes are carefully hand-picked at peak ripeness. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. The wine is then aged for 12 months in cask, with 30% new oak.
In the glass, the wine reveals a superb ruby-red hue. The nose delivers complex aromas of ripe red fruit, violet and fine spice, lifted by elegant woody nuances. The palate opens with a generous velvety attack, revealing fine tannins and vibrant freshness. The silky texture is underpinned by subtle minerality. The finish is long and persistent, lifted by notes of red fruit and spice.
