Information
Morey-Saint-Denis lies in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, between Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. The La Riotte climat, classified as Premier Cru, is one of the village’s most renowned, appreciated for its finesse and its balance of power and elegance. The vines benefit from optimal sunlight. The brown limestone soils mixed with fine clay are rich in stones. The winemaking process is extremely exacting, beginning with a long vatting period of around 20 days. Regular cap-punching and pump-overs extract colour and tannins. The wine is then aged for 16 months in cask with a significant proportion of new oak.
The intense ruby-red hue is lifted by garnet highlights. The complex nose reveals black fruit and sweet spice with a lightly smoky, toasty edge. On the palate, the wine is structured and dense, with refined tightly knit tannins leading into a beautifully long finish.
